Roben Kosek Jazz & Blues: Home

The marriage of Jazz and Blues resulted in the offspring of American popular songs spanning a 30 year period that never went out of style. Roben & Kosek treat these songs with loving tenderness, nurturing the unique quality of each one. Also included in their repertoire are Latin Sambas and songs, as well as some French cafe selections, keeping their audience pleasantly surprised.

Terri Roben's voice is clear and concisely agile as she entices her listeners to join her embrace of each selection.

Guitarist MaryAnn Kosek, whose father was a professional jazz band musician, carries on the family tradition, arranging the songs with heart, soul and innate skill.

Brenda Fisher lends her wide musical talents to the group with high quality playing on her upright bass, providing rhythm and movement with soul and emotion.

Paul Devino is a drummer of many years, spanning rock and roll, Latin and African hand drumming, and most recently, jazz and blues.

We play selections generally from the 1920's - the 1960's. We can be a duo, trio or quartet, depending on your needs. We have played in restaurants, cafes, parties, festivals, library concerts and weddings.

We would love to be your entertainment!

They Say It's Spring - May 10, 2017

Thanks to all who came out to hear us at Stoney's Irish Grill on May 6th. It was fun and as always, an evening of varied temperatures and precipitation. Now we are back in the 30's at night, and still more rain coming, with a little break of real spring weather tomorrow...
We look forward to returning to Provence, the well-known French restaurant in Stuyvesant Plaza on Western Ave in Albany, June 10, a Saturday night, from 6pm - 9pm. We will have a few more new songs for you by then. We really enjoy discovering and learning and performing new musical gems! Of course, they aren't really new, but usually some real treasures from the past that one or the other of us discover in our musical wanderings .
Check out "They Say It's Spring" from Blossom Dearie's recordings - it sums up the season for me!

Anyway, here's to temperamental weather, transitional seasons, and transformational music!
